 | Of the six tracks on this CD, four are instros with edge and unusual ideas in tow. Not surf, but if you like instros, like the Austin sound, dog angular music, then you enjoy this release. "Aladdin's Amp" is particularly cool. |
Picks: Toros Stomp, Aladdin's Amp, Candy Shop, Edged Out
Track by Track Review
Rock (Instrumental)
The melody riff to "Toros Stomp" is kinda relentless and a little circular, with an angular disquieting intensity.
Rock (Instrumental)
This is an edgy track with middle eastern sounds and big guitar twang. "Aladdin's Amp" is quite good, with mystique and adventure. Great title!
Rock (Instrumental)
The "cheep" organ takes much of the lead in "Candy Shop." It's playful like Country Joe and the Fish with their social conscience hat removed. Just a really nice instro.
Rock (Instrumental)
Nervous like you might expect from the title, "Edged Out" is what it sounds like when the lane ends and the guy next to you won't let you in.
