Phil Dirt - Reverb Central - PO Box 1609, Felton, CA 95018-1609 USA Dave Edmunds and Love Sculpture - Singles A and B

 | This LP is a compilation of the singles, including several spit shined instros, including their masterful 1968 release of "Sabre Dance." Damn fine band... so unlike the later pub rock Dave Edmunds would become so famous for. |
Picks: Sabre Dance, The Stumble, Farandole

Post Surf Classical Rock (Instrumental)
In 1940, Aram Ilich Khachaturian wrote "Sabre Dance" as part of the ballet Gayane. While this tune was very familiar, it found sudden new life in this fiery blues driven, rock powered, surf structured arrangement. 30 years later, Get Wet would take off on this exceptional idea with their powerhouse rendition. This is the 11 minute version.
Post Surf Blues Rock (Instrumental)
A fine helping of bluesy instro from the pen of Freddie King, a man that influenced many a surf guitarist.
Post Surf Classical Rock (Instrumental)
Georges Bizet's classical wizardry unleashed for the first time... this is not all that far from where Get Wet took it 30 years later. Almost surf in it's speedy thrashy form, but certainly not sound or styling. Spiffy fun and flashy delivery. Way cool.
