Marlowe Stewart and his 4 Guitars - Riptide c/w Sky Surfin'dotdotdot
artworkThis vanity press single featured just Marlowe Stewart (Illusions) and his guitar, with some overdubs. As a guitar solo surf instro, it is alone from that period. This is quite rare.
Picks: Riptide, Sky Surfin'

Riptide dotdotdotdot
Surf (Instrumental)

Riptide is a decent melody, with the two guitar parts. They are playing essentially the same melody most of the time, but in different octaves, with different tone, and in different styles. One might be double picking on the low-E, while the other is playing long single notes emulating a lap steel or chords. The melody is obviously inspired by "Miserlou." Very unusual.

Sky Surfin' dotdotdotdot
Surf (Instrumental)

"Sky Surfin'" seems more of a song, with a unique and interesting melody line and band potential. Fairly well developed, this is the much more listenable side of the single.
